TVonics have been granted the right to display the prestigious Freeview+ logo alongside Tvonics branding. Only high quality Freeview+ Set-Top-Boxes that meet certain criteria including specific functionality are granted the right to carry the Freeview logo. Tvonics has been deemed a suitable candidate with only a handful of others meeting the requirements.
The Freeview+ brand was created in the UK to raise awareness of the now widely available TV Recorders (sometimes referred to as Personal Video Recorders). The term + Box originally became popular with the emergence of the Sky+ Box and V+ Box, however Freeview+ is an entirely different concept.
Freeviewbrand is a joint venture between the BBC, the National Grid Wireless and other TV programming entities. These consumer companies do not manufacture the Freeview+ boxes themselves but rather award other manufacturers the Freeview label if they meet the series of specifications that were put together by the UK Digital TV Group. Unlike Sky+ and V+, Freeview+ boxes are not a commercial venture. This ensures a set of high standards and quality.

Just plug in your digital recorder and you’re ready to go! No subscription is necessary. Freeview+ gives you the power to control your personal entertainment experience. You can record, rewind and pause live TV to fit around your schedule so you never miss a thing. In addition, Freeview+ is going to be launching high definition television in 2010. To set up your Freeview+ recorder, you must take out the aerial lead from the back of your TV and plug it into the aerial socket of the recorder. Then put one end of the Scart lead into the socket in the digital box. Make sure your TV on standby and then turn it on using your remote control. Plug the power lead of your Freeview+ recorder into the electrical socket and turn it on. Most TVs should detect that you have done this. The digital recorder will display on your TV screen, a message saying “do you want to start tuning?” Just press ok and the unit then begins to tune. Once your Freeview+ digital box is tuned, you can save the channels that you find such as BBC1.
