TVonics the British digital TV switchover specialist, today announces the launch of its first digital TV recorder (DTR) to include High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) sockets for an improved viewing experience.
By connecting the TVonics DTR-HV250 to an HD-Ready television, consumers are able to enjoy superior picture quality ensuring their TV displays the clearest possible image. The DTR-HV250 upscales the standard TV broadcast to higher definition viewing, getting more out of your flat-screen TV and resulting in sharper and clearer images. For those of us whose TV’s only have one HDMI port on the back, the TVonics DTR-HV250 also features an HDMI switch that allows you to connect up to two other HDMI devices to the unit and ‘switch’ between them without having to unplug or plug-in any cables.
In addition, the product’s two USB ports allow users to view their personal pictures (JPEG), and then flick through them using the compact universal remote control. The ports can be used to transfer feature and software upgrades to the device when they are available from the TVonics website.
With the TVonics DTR-HV250 you can pause and rewind live TV so you never miss another punch-line again. It has a massive 125hrs recording time to record and store your favourite programmes and films, or several TV series using the series record button, which ensures you won’t miss a single episode of Scrubs. Plus, if you or the family are undecided on what to watch or there are fights over the remote, simply record two channels simultaneously then watch when you want.
The DTR-HV250 is available now from the TVonics website (www.tvonics.com) for £229.99. Other retailers are expected soon. Users of the new DVR will benefit from all Freeview+ channels and radio stations without the need for costly subscriptions or contracts.
The DTR-HV250 is a stepping stone for the company in the run up to Freeview HD expected in 2010, and is the first TVonics product to have a channel/clock display on the front panel.
