In 2004 we set up our operations in South Wales to exploit the strong heritage of top quality television design and manufacture, formerly operated by Sony, Hitachi, Panasonic and Grundig. We hired the highly trained and experienced digital TV receiver design engineers to design our Freeview boxes and FREEVIEW+^TM recorders. Expertise in Japanese quality control and German engineering procedures, coupled with a copious amount of British innovative design flair has proved to be an excellent recipe for delivering great products.

TVonics has delivered several ground breaking products and services into the UK Freeview digital TV market. These include:

• September July 2005: PRISM FREEVIEW^TM Set Top Box – Energy efficient and recyclable aluminum case.
• November 2006: MDR-200. First Energy Savings Trust approved Freeview Box.
• May 2007: DVR-FP150. First FREEVIEW+^TM (Playback) Digital TV recorder in the market.

• September 2007: Logik LDR V3. First Government help scheme approved FREEVIEW^TM box including ease of use accessibility features (large ergonomic handset, subtitles, audio description).
• November 2007: DVR-FP1600AD. First affordable Freeview Digital TV recorder including Audio Description.
• November 2007: Whitehaven becomes the first town in the UK to switchover to Digital TV reception. TVonics was the exclusive supplier of FREEVIEW^TM boxes and FREEVIEW+^TM digital TV recorders for the Government help scheme.
• February 2008: MFR-200. First Micro Freeview Set Top Box designed for TVs with no SCARTs using RF re-modulation. Simply connects via the TVs existing aerial input connection.
• May 2008: MFR-300 First Digital Tick scoreboard compliant Freeview Set Top Box.
• July 2008: First FREEVIEW+^TM branded product released for sale in the UK.
• July 2008: Which Best Buy MFR-200 Micro Freeview Box.
• July 2008: DigitalUK Easy to Install accreditation - MFR-300 Micro Freeview box with AD.
• July 2008: Full Digital Scoreboard Twin SCART FREEVIEW^TM box - MDR-250.
